St. Nicholas’ Church

St Nicholas Church is a friendly place of worship & community situated at the heart of the historic town of Warwick,

opposite one of the gates to Warwick Castle and adjacent to the attractive St Nicholas Park.

Choir and Music

St Nicholas’ has had a choir since at least the late 19th century.  For most of that time, it would have been men and boys, but currently it is all adults, women and men.  There are around 14 members, and in normal times we sing at every 10 am Sunday service, as well as for special occasions like the annual Carol Service and the Ascension Day early morning service at the Castle.  We also sing at weddings and funerals when asked. Weddings on a Saturday are relatively easy, but Monday to Friday can be tricky if choir members have work or other commitments.

We normally rehearse on a Friday evening for an hour or so, and our repertoire ranges from the 16th century to the present day.

New members are always welcome – ability to read music would be helpful, but isn’t essential.  If you would like to come to a rehearsal and get a feel of what happens, do get in touch with Chris Foy via the church office.

Children

Children who are interested in singing are welcome to join us for our children’s singing activities once per month during our Sunday morning services led by Jenn Randall with the support of our curate, Anita.

Please contact Anita via the church office if you would like to join us.
